Engr. Abdullahi Sule
Abdullahi Sule was the first President of Zumunta Association Texas
Chapter as well as the first National Secretary General of the national
body of Zumunta Association USA Inc. He was later to become the National
President of the association from 1997-1999.
He was at African Petroleum Plc (one of the major petroleum products marketing
companies in Nigeria) where he was Executive Director, Operations (Oct 2000 to
April 2001) and Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer (April 2001 to July

AP Plc, which was running as a government parastatal. The company had its share
capital eroded and negative balance sheet of over N22 billion. Along with his
colleagues he worked tirelessly in making the historic turn around of AP along

NNPC, employees, etc). By the time he resigned from AP in July 2006, the company
was N5 billion positive balance sheet.
Joining Dangote Sugar Refinery Plc as the Managing Director Sule had a work experience
spanning utilities, steel, IT, oil & gas and petroleum marketing both in
Nigeria and in the USA.
Described as a man imbued with charismatic quality, amiable, presence
and style, as well as pragmatic and forward looking qualities, Abdullahi
is a recipient of many awards including 2002 Chairman’s Prestigious

Engr Sule joined partisan politics in support of his long-term friend
and mentor, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar. At a time most of Abubakar's friends
were running away from him, Engr Sule not only stayed with him but
also reluctantly accepted to support the Action Congress, AC. With
less than a week to the primaries elections, he joined the race and
became the AC Gubernatorial Candidate for Nasarawa state. He contested
among the
10 candidates and came 3rd in the 2007 elections (or exercise).
As a community man, he has worked diligently to provide for the poor
and the needy in his community. He has participated in several private
and public projects in Nasarawa State. |
